Telegram became the number 1 non-played app in January 2021, surpassing WhatsApp, TikTok, Signal, and Facebook.

Telegram has surpassed Whatsapp to become the first number of most played apps downloaded in January 2021. India's share of total Telegram download is 24%. This was revealed in the latest Sensor Tower details. The messaging app received a total of 6.3 downodes last month. In that case, in January, Telegram gained 1.5 crore new users in India. People are angry after Whatsapp's new privacy policy in India so they switch to other messaging platforms like Telegram and Signal. Whatsapp suffers due to its new privacy policy. Among the applications that dropped the most in January were Telegram (TikTok), Signal and Facebook (Facebook) behind Telegram. WhatsApp has moved to fifth place in the most downloaded list. WhatsApp has previously been ranked third on the list. Telegram has received the highest input from India behind Indonesia. Indonesia reports 10% of the total Telegram download.
